Der Beistelltisch wird aus einer Stahlplatte der Standardgröße 3000mm × 2000mm × 3mm des Typs "S 235 JR" hergestellt. Dies sind die Standardgrößen und -abmessungen, mit denen Metallbauer vorwiegend arbeiten. Mein Anspruch war es daraus so viele Beistelltische wie möglich ohne Verschnitt herzustellen. Da es sich in diesem Projekt um eine Kleinserie handelt, wird er aus zwei mit Faserlaserten Stahlplatten hergestellt. Ab einer Stückzahl von 1000 Beistelltischen und der dazugehörigen Vorrichtung, könnte er aus einer Platte gebogen werden.
Legt man den Beistelltisch in die Waagerechte, kann man ihn zusätzlich als Couchtisch verwenden. Die Diagonalen des Tisches bieten Platz, um z.B. Bücher unterzubringen.

Durch die Form dieser Platten können zehn Beistelltische aus einer Stahlplatte ohne Verschnitt hergestellt werden. Bei der Herstellung wurden die beiden Elemente mit einer CNC-Biegemaschine und zwei verschiedenen Werkzeugen in präzisen Winkeln geformt. Der erste gebogene Teil ergibt ein Tischbein und die Tischplatte mit einem 90-Grad-Winkel. Daraus ergibt sich eine optimale Höhe des Beistelltisches von 510 mm. Das zweite Biegeteil ergibt das zweite Tischbein mit einem Winkel von 79,33 Grad.
By shaping these plates, ten side tables can be made from one steel plate without waste. In the manufacturing process, the two elements were formed at precise angles using a CNC bending machine and two different tools. The first bent part results in a table leg and the table top with a 90 degree angle. This results in an optimal side table height of 510mm. The second bent part results in the second table leg with an angle of 79.33 degrees.
Beide Elemente sind an der Unterkante der Tischplatte und an den Füßen verschweißt, was eine hohe Stabilität gewährleistet, ebenso wie das Gewicht des Tisches von 12 kg. Die Ecken der Füße des Tisches sind abgerundet, um eine Beschädigung des Untergrundes zu verhindern. Die Beistelltische sind pulverbeschichtet, was umweltfreundlich ist, Korrosionsschutz bietet und eine hohe Rostbeständigkeit aufweist. Möglich wäre eine Oberflächenbeschichtung in allen erdenklichen Farben.
